Austin Bat Cave and MicroMatching
December 21, 2021
‘Tis the season of giving. Will you pitch in a few dollars (it’s microgiving!) to show your support for our inspiring Cause of the Week, Austin Bat Cave? Their writing programs empower students of all ages and backgrounds to find their voices and tell their stories.
We’re also feeling the holiday vibe, and 52andChange is matching all donations that come in, up to $500.
For more than 14 years, Austin Bat Cave has provided safe, accessible, and free writing programs to Central Texas youth (ages 6-18) by connecting young learners with local novelists, poets, journalists, fiction writers, and other artistic professionals through our in-school, after-school, weekend, and summer creative writing workshops.
One of the many things we love about Austin Bat Cave is the way they leverage the literary arts to foster self-expression and personal well-being for kids. Their programs are not only fun and creative, but they also push Central Texas towards a more equitable future. They offer workshops — such as op-ed journalism, food advocacy, online activism, and more — that equip students with lifelong tools for self-expression and the ability to advocate for their ideas and beliefs. Their publishing opportunities provide students with tangible affirmations that their voices are important and should be heard.
You can find ways to connect with Austin Bat Cave and learn more (there’s so much!) about their crucial work here. Our mission is to get as many people to give a little (we have a max donation of $10) as we can, to help make big change. You're just one click away from showing your support for ABC and their work amplifying the stories of historically marginalized young voices.
Thanks for making a difference, giving a little and sharing a lot!
