Pajaro Valley Loaves and Fishes!

July 25, 2022

Are you ready to join others in making a difference through a micro-donation this week?

Here’s how it works: It’s very simple. We all give a little ($1-10), spread the news, and make an impact by supporting a nonprofit that is doing the hard work. Through Sunday we’re bringing back Pajaro Valley Loaves and Fishes to benefit from our MicroMatching program, doubling all donations that come in, up to $500.

Here’s why:

While we’re writing this and you’re reading it, Pajaro Valley Loaves and Fishes is out there, finding ways to provide food to more people in need throughout Santa Cruz County, where one of three residents are reported to be food insecure.

Loaves and Fishes is a community-based organization dedicated to alleviating hunger among working poor families, farm workers, and elderly, disabled, and homeless individuals of Central California's Pajaro Valley. 70% of those served are farmworkers and their families.

This crucial nonprofit combats food insecurity with emergency and supplementary groceries and delicious hot meals every weekday. Find out more about Loaves and Fishes’ work and ways to connect with them here.

This is just the kind of nonprofit that we are honored to feature. With a limited budget, small staff, and hundreds of volunteers, they are doing the hard work, every day, to make people's lives better — because it's the right thing to do.

Many thanks to these nonprofit heroes for all they do, and to you for pitching in a little to show your solidarity with their heroic staff, volunteers, and constituents.

News&stories

Latest news from 52andChange!

Together we’ve become volunteers in places we would have never expected, planted milkweed for butterflies, provided books to kids in need, helped save endangered turtles, helped turn excess food into nutrition, helped bring art to youth, educated one another about how we are connected to our delicate food systems, helped save abandoned horses and given old dogs new hope, watched foster youth shine in the spotlight of movie making, helped clean tires out of rivers… we could go on and on and on. It is an absolute joy to be a part of such an amazing network of humans making a difference.
