Coral Reef Alliance and MicroMatching

February 28, 2022

52andChange believes in the power of collective action! When we all give a little together, we can change the world. This week, 52andChange is helping make a difference alongside our microgiving community (that’s you!) by matching microgifts to Coral Reef Alliance, up to $500. Through Sunday, join others and pitch in $1-10 to help save coral reefs.

Coral reefs are in trouble, but science tells us it’s possible to help them adapt to climate change. Our Cause of the Week, Coral Reef Alliance, engages with scientists, local communities, and global partners to keep reefs healthy and protected, before it’s too late.

Here are just a few of the many reasons we should support healthy coral reefs:

  • Coral reefs are the most biodiverse marine ecosystems in the world.

  • Coral reefs around the world are facing high to critical threat levels now.

  • Scientists predict that all corals will be threatened by 2050.

  • Healthy reefs support local—and global—economies.

  • Right now may be our last chance.

That’s just a snapshot. Give a little and find out more about Coral Reef Alliance’s work and ways to connect with them here.

As always, we’re so grateful for the hard work of staffs and volunteers of nonprofits like Coral Reef Alliance, working every day toward a healthier planet. Thanks for having their backs and making a difference this week at 52andChange.

News&stories

Latest news from 52andChange!

Together we’ve become volunteers in places we would have never expected, planted milkweed for butterflies, provided books to kids in need, helped save endangered turtles, helped turn excess food into nutrition, helped bring art to youth, educated one another about how we are connected to our delicate food systems, helped save abandoned horses and given old dogs new hope, watched foster youth shine in the spotlight of movie making, helped clean tires out of rivers… we could go on and on and on. It is an absolute joy to be a part of such an amazing network of humans making a difference.
