Featuring Washington Farmland Trust

June 21, 2021

Every Monday 52andChange brings a different nonprofit to our growing audience of microgivers. This week we are proud to bring you Washington Farmland Trust! Here’s one simple reason they are so important (and why it’s a no-brainer to give a dollar or two in support:

Farms equal food.

Local farms are essential to our daily lives. Washington Farmland Trust Invests in farmland, meaning healthy food for our children, thriving rural economies, and fertile, productive soil.

Farming is a bridge between people and the natural world. When the land is depleted, our communities suffer too. Washington Farmland Trust works to promote farming that rebuilds soil, keeps water clean, supports habitat and biodiversity, and promotes climate resilience. These tenets of healthy landscapes are key to our own prosperity too.

Learn more about the ways that Washington Farmland trust is fighting for the future of farming and farmland here.

We're deeply inspired by Washington Farmland Trust's leadership and the strength of its programs. As farmland is rapidly diminishing, Washington Farmland Trust serves as an inspiring model of sustainability and conservation. By supporting Washington Farmland Trust, you are supporting the very farmers who put food on our plates.

We can’t think of a better reason to give, together, to keep food on the table, and celebrate the hard work of farmers everywhere. Thanks for being a part of it!
