Featuring Young Women Empowered

August 16, 2021

Dear {{ contact.firstName }},

52andChange is so honored to highlight Young Women Empowered this week! Y-WE’s mission is to cultivate the power of diverse young women* to be creative leaders and courageous changemakers. They envision a society rooted in social justice where all young women live their truth, achieve their dreams, and change our world. Help support their inspiring efforts by giving $1, $2, $3… up to $10 through Sunday!

Why Young Women Empowered?

Among so many other things:

  • Y-WE serves a diverse population of young women ages 13-26, and hosts a range of after-school programs, day-long events, and summer camps that focus on leadership development, skill-building, creativity, connecting with the land, and mentorship.

  • Each year, Y-WE's programs directly serve 700+ young people and benefit 2,000+ community members.

  • Y-WE programs are centered around participants who are of color, from immigrant communities, and from low-income backgrounds, and those who identify as LGBTQ+.

  • Y-WE provides safety, cultural respect, transportation, and healthy meals for all programs.

  • A rich sense of community grows as adult women mentors participate in program activities alongside young women. Mentors model positive risk-taking and a willingness to be transformed, and young women develop leadership skills.

Y-WE is teaching us all about what is possible, now and in the future. Find out more about their programming and ways to connect with them here. This week, let’s all pitch in to show our solidarity with and support for this transformative nonprofit.

The power of diverse young women will shape our future. Be a part of it by giving today.

It is an absolute joy to be a part of such an amazing network of humans making a difference.
