Kids Need to Read and MicroMatching

January 31, 2022

This week we are introducing a new 52andChange Cause of the Week, Kids Need to Read, to our growing microgiving community!

We are reaching out to you to ask if you’ll join others in making a small donation (never more than $10 on our platform!) to support this incredible nonprofit, which is getting books into the hands of the kids who need them the most. We’ll be matching all donations that come in, dollar for dollar, up to $500, so consider your donation doubled. 52andChange is all about a lot of people, each giving a little, to help make big change.

Why Kids Need to Read?

Do you know that six out of ten children in low-income families have limited or no access to books outside the classroom? Funding for libraries is often one of the first things cut, and parents may face the difficult decision to choose between books or family necessities, leaving many children with little to no access to books outside the classroom. Kids Need to Read was established to help reverse this trend by providing exciting new books to underfunded libraries, school systems, and independent literacy programs.

We agree, kids do need to read and this wonderful organization is supporting underserved kids in all corners of the United States, concentrating on areas where the shelves are most empty and the distractions may be greatest. Find out more here about their amazing programs and how to connect with them. While you’re there, give a buck or two of support to these nonprofit heroes to show you care.

If we all give a little together, we will change the world.

It is an absolute joy to be a part of such an amazing network of humans making a difference.
