NYC Salt and MicroMatching

April 18, 2022

This week we are thrilled to introduce the nonprofit NYC Salt to our microgiving community. NYC Salt is unlocking the full potential of underserved students in New York City by dismantling barriers and unlocking opportunities through the creative and economic power of visual arts.

Through Sunday, we’re collecting as many microdonations ($1, $2, $3… never more than $10) as we can to support Salt’s free programs for students, developing the professional skills and confidence that will guide them to a better future. We will also match all donations that come in, up to $500. So when you give a little today, the impact will be doubled!

Here are a few reasons we are spreading the word about NYC Salt and why our collective microdonations can help make a difference:

  • Your small gifts go toward supporting free visual arts programs for underserved students.

  • NYC Salt is led by creative professionals utilizing their talent, expertise, and social capital to provide opportunities and create a pipeline from high school to college to careers in the creative industries.

  • This inspiring organization creates pathways to give young people a voice in the media to share their perspectives and shape culture.

  • The NYC Salt team is working toward a more racially and culturally inclusive creative industry in New York and beyond.

Find links to follow NYC Salt on social media and learn more about this nonprofit and the impactful work they have been engaged in since 2008. Thanks for showing you care by chipping in, because 52andChange is all about giving a little, and sharing a lot!

Together we’ve become volunteers in places we would have never expected, planted milkweed for butterflies, provided books to kids in need, helped save endangered turtles, helped turn excess food into nutrition, helped bring art to youth, educated one another about how we are connected to our delicate food systems, helped save abandoned horses and given old dogs new hope, watched foster youth shine in the spotlight of movie making, helped clean tires out of rivers… we could go on and on and on. It is an absolute joy to be a part of such an amazing network of humans making a difference.
