Organic Farm School and MicroMatching

We love food, and without farms there’s no food. So, this week we’re bringing back the Organic Farm School to benefit from our MicroMatching program. Through Sunday, gathering as many microdonations ($1-$10) as we can from our wonderful community of nonprofit supporters (that’s you!) and matching all donations, up to $500, to help support the Organic Farm School as they dive into a new season of growing both food and farmers!

Why the Organic Farm School?

As a learning center, the Organic Farm School is a nonprofit that trains new farmers to develop and manage small farms focused on ecological, economic, and social regeneration—simultaneously offering opportunities for their community and others to learn about their role in strengthening local/regional food systems.

Here are a few reasons we are spreading the word about the Organic Farm School at 52andChange.org and why our collective microdonations can help make a difference:

• They are committed to training new farmers in an inclusive community

• They take the time to consider how farming practices might either disrupt or strengthen ecosystems

• Their holistic seven month full-time program includes:

• • Working and managing a student farm, producing a range of organic vegetables, seed crops, cover crops, and livestock

  • Guidance of students through the creation of a personal business plan

  • Frequent field trips and farm visits to learn about different farm systems and make connections with other farmers and industry professionals.
